Blood Donation Camp & Mammography Test - JKGISV in association with the Rotary Club of Ghaziabad Greater Next organized a Blood Donation Camp and Mammography Test on 27th May 2023. The school management, teachers, and students disseminated this information in the society. This encouraged people to donate blood without any apprehension. Consequently, the number of blood donors surpassed the estimated number. Each donor was served a hearty meal & a certificate. Workshop on Water Conservation - Go Sharpener is a global networking platform for young minds from all across the globe to meet, discuss and act on ways of making the world a better place with their efforts. Its core purpose is to make young learners sensitive towards the fruition of SDGs. Go Sharpener has multiple knowledge partners like CRY, PETA, Water Aid India, Center for Science and Environment, Dhyan Foundation and many more responsible for organizing learning sessions. Poster Making & Slogan Writing Competition - An Inter-House Poster Making & Slogan Writing Competition was held on 18th April, 2023 for the students of VI-XII grade on various themes like“Health, Environment, Freedom Fighters, Road Safety and Independence Day. The objective behind the competition was to bring out the creative expression of students and to gauge their knowledge on the matter. The students participated with enthusiasm and created attractive posters with relevant captions and slogans. It was a wonderful experience to watch them create and display their ideas on paper. Tessellation - Tessellation is a form of representation of an object or image using geometrical shapes in a particular order where all the shapes fit perfectly together, without any gap. Fostering learners ability to create, transform their own piece of artwork and enable them to see how art is incorporated into maths in a fun way. Fire Drill at JKGISV - A fire drill was conducted by Trained Personnel together with Disaster Management Team of the J KG International School on 04 May 2023 in the school premises. This exercise emphasises on the need to be prepared in case of fire emergency. The resource person first explained the theory of extinguishing fire by the use of Fire Extinguisher and Hose Pipe and then performed a drill for the same. Regional Science Exhibition 2022-23 - Gagan Kumar and Ayush Kumar have been awarded Certificate of Merit for their outstanding performance. Their model Automatic Rain Water Sensor Hanger was adjudged the best at received Gold medal for the same. At the CBSE National Level his model received high acclamation. Achiever of Inspire Award - Wishes poured in from every nook & corner over Prachi of Class X who has been selected for an INSPIRE Award of Rs. 10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) for the year 2022-23 for preparation of Science Project/Model and to participate in the District Level Exhibition & Project Competitions (DLEPCS) to be organized by the District Education Authority. CUET Workshop - It has been rightly said that the right guidance at the right time can do wonders for a child. Pursuing the same pursuit, an informative and interactive workshop on CUET (Central Universities Entrance Test) was conducted by JKGIS for the students of XI and XII on 1 May 2023. Labour Day Celebration - All Labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and hence should be undertaken with painstaking excellence. On 1 May JKGIS celebrated International Labour Day with great zeal. This day is a reminder for us that they are the real architects of our society and deserve due respect. Salute to Achievers of JEE MAIN - Wishes poured in from every nook & corner over the students of Grade XII (Session 2022-23), who scored high percentile in JEE MAIN 2023. Achievers of Science, Maths & Reasoning Olympiad - The entire school fraternity cheers up all the Achievers of Science, Maths & Reasoning Olympiad who participated at the national level Olympiad Examination for the session 2022-23. The top scorers and winners of gold medal silver medal and bronze medal for the grade 4th to 10th are given below: Digital Wellness - Generation Global provides an interactive online platform that helps the young learners equip with 21st century skills and share their knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become open minded intellectuals. The students of 11th grade of JKGIS had the opportunity to have discussion on Digital Wellness on 26 April 2023 with global learners of Indonesia, Armenia, Ukraine and India. Position & Location - To understand the position of things in our surroundings, we need to develop basic understanding of the children. It helps them to understand the location in relation to their position where things are stationed or where they appear in relation to other things. Mirror Image & Symmetry - It's a unique way to learn and have fun altogether for elementary students at JKGIS. In order to learn about how Science and Math overlap each other and add a zest to the learners when they have hands- on experience. Earth Day - JKGIS celebrated Earth Day by organizing a series of activities on 21st April 2023. In the school assembly students delivered speeches and vowed to conserve Earth. Later, the school students participated in Poster Making Competition and also prepared PPTs to highlight the ongoing threat of global warming. They also planted trees and promised to reduce the effects of global warming by following 3R principle of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Orientation Programme - JKGISV organised an Orientation Programme on Sunday in the school auditorium for the new parents to familiarize them as partners in progress with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodology and the co- scholastic activities. The event started by lighting the Ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries of the school. World Heritage Day - A special assembly on ' World Heritage Day’ was conducted by JKGISV on 18 April, 2023 with the motto of spreading the message that we should honour, cherish and preserve our priceless monuments and heritage sites which are our true identity to the world. The assembly began traditionally seeking the blessings of the Almighty through morning prayer, followed by a thought evoking speech by Trisha of class 10th C. Healthy and Unhealthy Food - Food provides nutrients and gives energy. Nutrients are essential for human health. The correlation between nutrients, foods, and dietary patterns has important implications, especially for prevention of chronic diseases and growth of an individual. Angles Everywhere - It is imperative for children that they should enhance their full cognitive potential, as childhood development and intellectual functioning predict that they are equipped with requisite skills to handle future challenges. Immense pleasure by doing many agricultural activities - The environment refers to the surroundings in which life exists on earth. Components like animals, humans, sunlight, water, trees and air make up the environment. The learners of grade VIII felt and experienced immense pleasure by doing many agricultural activities themselves in the school garden. Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti - A special assembly was organized at JKG International School by the students of 6th to 10th grade on 13 April 2023 to celebrate Baisakhi, Ambedkar Jayanti and to commemorate the Martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. Students participated enthusiastically and gave an electrifying dance performance. The significance of the Baisakhi festival was told by the students through speeches and acts. Students also cited Ambedkar's birth and his contribution. Social Skills and Story Telling - Teaching social skills is a key part of child's development. Good social skills allow kids to interact positively with others and communicate their needs, and feelings effectively. Indeed, the benefits of robust social skills reach far beyond social relationships and acceptance. Eat Healthy: Stay Healthy - Greatest wealth of a person is his/her health. It is neither amassed nor treasured in a bank. Simply, it's our habit that makes us healthy. The most effective way to make it happen naturally is to adapt to it right from childhood. Keeping this in mind, JKGISV celebrated World Health Day on 7th April 2023 for Nursery students wherein they were involved in eating salads and fruits. Developing Cognitive Skills - While reading, writing, and mathematical concepts are important, developing cognitive skills is indispensable for lifelong learning. So, it is imperative for children that they should enhance their full cognitive potential, as childhood development and intellectual functioning predict that they are equipped with requisite skills to handle future challenges. CPR and Basic Life Support - JKG International School and Sarvodaya Hospital Greater Noida West in association with RHAM Foundation & District Rotary Health Awareness Mission organised a workshop on CPR and Basic Life Support on 10th April 2023 in the school auditorium. Nutrition in Plants - The students of 7th grade participated in an activity to know the process of photosynthesis and Nutrition in Plants. Players of JKGISV hoisted the flag of success in the Athletics Competition - The players of JKGISV once again brought pride to the school by performing brilliantly in shot put, discus throw and hammer throw in the district level athletics competition held at Mahamaya Sports Stadium on 06 April 2023. CBP on Behaviour Management & Digital Media - A Capacity Building Programme on “Behaviour Management and Digital Media for Effective Teaching” was organised by JKGISV on 8th April 2023 for the teachers. The resource person Mr Shiv Shankar Yadav, National head - Training and Development, Cordova Publications deliberated on the three phases of teaching ( Pre - active, Interactive and Post active). He also explained the key concepts of NEP-2020 which are essential for developing students' learning output. Conceptual learning, prior preparation for the class, focusing on enhancing critical thinking were some of the points discussed. Overall it was a beneficial program wherein the teachers gained experience on various modern pedagogical strategies. How to improve Interview Skills - Communication skills are essential for everyone in today’s life.With the right communication skills ,one is able to learn the maximum and utilise their potential in learning and expressing oneself. To make the learners' communication skills more effective JKGIS organized an activity How to Improve Interview Skills for 1st Grade students on 7th April 2023. The learners participated in mock interviews and expressed their viewpoints. They were very excited to ask questions and give answers. Thus they got confidence and developed their communication skills. Fun with Circles - In work and life, success often hinges on effective application of knowledge to solve problems and create new ideas and information. Working collaboratively during project work prepares students for future. Having students put to work together to achieve a goal helps them recognize the value of the contributions and perspectives of all team members and prepares them for life in the 21st century. Developing Team Spirit - Success gives peace of mind, which is proportional to self- satisfaction, perceiving you did your best. Collective effort of the team helps every one know each other and celebrate the accomplishments of the team as a whole. This allows them to build strong relationship and coordination too. Shape Recognition & Hopscotch Activity - Involve the young learners in a variety of fun activities. While playing they hop, jump, run, skip, dance, and move. Thus, muscles of the legs, arms, and trunk come into action which is important for their health and physical development. Learning to harness the power of their muscles is vital to the growth of their body and brain. Gross Motor Skills - To develop Gross Motor Skills of kids we, at JKGISV, involve the young learners in a variety of fun activities. When they play, the large muscles of the legs, arms, and trunk come into action which is important for their health and physical development. Learning to harness the power of their muscles to run, jump, throw, catch, and kick is vital to the growth of their body and brain. Art Integrated Learning - At JKGISV, the curriculum is transacted through Art Integrated Learning which allows children to build on their learning curve of simple concepts and relate them with practical world around. Activities outside the classroom - Activities outside the classroom are essential for the holistic development of a child. We at JKGISV allow the learners to explore and spread their wings to learn new concepts. Our enthusiastic learners of grade I learnt the mind and body coordination through this activity. It was a refreshing and engrossing activity. Know your Class and Teachers - JKGISV conducted a craft activity on the topic "Know your Class and Teachers" for grade VI students on 28 March 2023. Armed Force Flag Day - 7th December is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the country to honour the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought & continue to fight on our borders to safeguard the country's honour. Rotary Club of Ghaziabad (3012) - It was indeed a proud moment for all JKGians that Rotary Club of Ghaziabad (3012) organized a drawing competition on 14th November 2021 on the occasion of Children’s day at JKG International School, Vijay Nagar, GZB. More than 200 students participated in the drawing competition. DIWALI - On the eve of Diwali, students of class IX to XII prepared posters to salute soldiers.
